Den amerikanske hvalfangerskonnert Fannnie Byrnes med skipper Antonio Silva var lastet med 100 tønder olie, da den 13. marts 1884 om morgenen via Dominica indkom til Sankt Thomas under havari med sprungne spær og tab af sejl.
Ved auktion 27. marts over skrog, takkelage og inventar solgtes skibet til en købmand på Sankt Thomas, som omdøbte det Nueva Roma, der 1889 videresolgtes til Martinique.
